SDG – BENCHMARKING VISIT TO Betamek Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd was held on 12th August 2025 at Betamek Research Centre, Rawang Selangor. The half-day event was well supported by P2SA Members and the senior management of Perodua.

The objective of this event is to provide vendors with insight into Betamak’s sustainability practices and how​ they align with SDG implementation by focusing on SSPOA evaluation. Not only to strengthen the bonds between the supplier network but also to recognize and celebrate exemplary practices in our industry — particularly in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs. As the principal, Perodua is very strongly supportive of our efforts towards SDGs.

Betamek sets a benchmark for all of us. As the winner of Perodua’s Best Overall Vendor in 2023 and being bestowed the Platinum Award in SSPOA, and as an example of how a Malaysian manufacturing firm can align its operations with the UN’s SDGs, particularly in:

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – through continuous R&D and investment in advanced manufacturing technologies.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – with initiatives to reduce electronic waste and adopt circular economy principles.

SDG 13: Climate Action – through energy-efficient operations and their journey towards carbon neutrality.

And importantly, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – by creating safe, inclusive, and progressive working environments for their employees. More recently, they announced their Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) via the issuance of ESOS to eligible employees.
